Not a lot, but it is! My weather page says it's 15 degrees with a 17mph wind, wow. Lovely day for a scoot, wouldn't you say? *g*

Whoah. I thought the temp had to be higher than this for teensy hail. I guess not.

Check out everflame's post today for the best analysis of Bush's folly that I have ever read.

I'm impressed. This guy is like Jon Stewart given more time and seriousness to work through his reactions. I should get cable TV just to hear this guy say it like it is.

Listening to NPR's Science Friday show and heard about a new 3D map of the cosmic dark-matter framework. Cool.

mckitterick: (Crossfire)

Wow, but does my little Crossfire not like the ice and snow. At all. Took me more time to drive to the grocery store than if I'd walked, and I ended up sideways across the streets a couple of times.

Okay, so maybe no driving until things get nice again. I actually don't feel like taking the scooter out in this, either. Funny how such a thin layer of sleet (less than an inch) can make one immobile, but in a city where they don't sand or salt the roads, it might as well be a foot of ice.

I just got done watching Bubba Ho-Tep with Bruce Campbell as Elvis (perhaps) and Ossie Davis as Jack Kennedy (less likely). What a brilliant film. It was not as silly as I'd expected, nor as romp-some, but is instead a poignant look at growing old and all that means. Who'd have guessed that an evil dead movie could use the metaphor to mean something so much more?

Bravo! Give it a watch, especially if you're a Campbell or Elvis fan.

(Oh, and it was only worth 650 calories on the exercycle. Hm. I guess a dark comedy about aging and death doesn't inspire one to pedal quickly....)
