succumbing

Dear microbes:

Okay, fine, you win this battle. I must have killed hundreds of millions of your legion over the past week or two, but it seems that continued exposure to more of you combined with work-stress and personal-stress has turned the tide of the war.

(Yeah, I seem to be sick. It's not bad - fever of 101°F with body-aches, sore throat, and burning eyes - but it precludes my walking up to the office. At least it's warm enough - 65°F in Lawrence! - for the scooter to operate correctly. I have so much work to get done up there, and I can't do it all from home. Harumph.)

Here's wishing you're well,
Chris

Boo. I'm sorry. =(

Did you take some Emergen-C?

Oh, good idea. Here I go....

The microbes seem to have been particularly evil this winter.

Yeah; everyone at work and a big chunk o' students have been ill. I'm usually very good at resisting the ick, but eventually it wins. One day, they will rule the world.

Urg. Bad germs! I hope they decamp soon.

Oh noes, you mean I was in a contamination zone on Saturday? Yikes!

Here's hoping multivitamins, vitamin C tablets, tons of orange juice, and religious washing of hands keeps me safe until after con!! (I still need to work on that 'get enough rest' bit.. that part always eludes me.)

Get well soon!!!!!

Thanks!

Heck, you've been in a contamination zone for weeks: I didn't start this! I'm sure one of those grubby student-types gave it to me *g*

Grubby student-types.. grumble grumble.. no respect.. grumble..

It might do you good to go to the doctor - Tamiflu seems to be giving a lot of people shorter duration and less severe symptoms. It's a name-brand only Rx med, so it's a little pricey, but it'll get you feeling better sooner if you've got the flu everyone else has.

That's only useful if it's influenza; it's not going to help against an ordinary cold, and it's only useful during the first two days of the infection. A typical sign of influenza is a rapid-onset fever, often up to 103°F.

Anyway, sympathy to Chris, whether it's a cold, flu, or whatever.
