The image of him coyly tossing the 5-1/4" disks is stuck forever in my mind's eye like a porcupine needle embedded in a coyote's eardrum, a 16-ounce hammer sunken into a carpenter's skull, a chunk of Sputnik cratered into the Mojave desert, rusting and festering, destroying habitat and polluting the groundwater.
