This is cool: Some of my neighbors and co-workers have been practicing the show for months (every Sunday and lately more often than that... yes, I can hear them across the street! And they sound great), so come see 'em!
Here's from a co-worker's email about this:
WHAT: A benefit performance of the music of Jesus Christ Superstar (a tribute to the original UK cast recording).
WHEN: Two shows: Saturday, February 25, 7 pm (doors at 6) for all ages, and 11 pm (doors at 10) for 21+.
WHERE: The Bottleneck, 737 New Hampshire, Lawrence. (There will be a show the following week at the Record Bar in Westport, Saturday, March 4, time TBA).
HOW MUCH: $5. All proceeds to be donated to LINK (Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen) and the Lawrence Humane Society. Advance tickets will be available at Love Garden Records, 936 1/2 Mass. St., 843-1551 by the end of this week.
WHO: Various Lawrence area musicians, including members of The Midday Ramblers, Split Lip Rayfield, The Eudoras, The Shebangs, Foodhead, The Kelihans, and other area bands (some of whom I hear passing students say, when they read the poster outside my office, "Oooh, cool! *so-and-so* is in it!").
I'm going to the 11pm show (well, I suppose I should get a ticket, eh?); are you going?
Chris
