Cool! I got to visit with a group of astronomers that work on the Spitzer project, including seeing how they simulate space conditions to work on issues with chips on the ground. And sticking my hand in liquid nitrogen.
They gave me some posters and an old logic board that still has a 'Property of the US Government" sticker on it.
It is also interesting because a couple of these astronomers I talked to have been working on this project for over 20 years (as a part of SIRTF), and the mission itself is only 2.5 years long.
