Cat minds are so easy to read: [livejournal.com profile] tatsuko_shikibu's food array is near the sliding-glass back door, which is just an inch or so above ground-level. On the back patio is where I scatter bird & squirrel food. Tatsuko's bed is also beside this back door. The squirrels are having another party on said patio.

I just fed Tatsuko a few minutes ago, and she's going back and forth between poised-to-pounce, tail-lashing predatoriness at the back window and gobbling her tasty beef lunch. Squirrel-hunting fantasy, eating raw meat.

Soon she will retire to the bedroom and the warmth of the down comforter. The life of a cat.

Raw meat, with none of the fur and toes and teensy bones to get stuck between your teeth. Nice....

Can't wait to see her!

I think she's looking at the squirrels and then pretending that she's eating them. "You! Yes, you, the cheeky fat bastard. THIS chunk is YOU!" ::OM NOM NOM NOM::

Of this I am pretty certain. But the squirrels, they hear that and say, "Feh, silly cat. You're trapped indoors while we're free to climb these wonderful trees and laugh at you from on high. I'd like to see you make the jump from that branch to the roof. Hah!"

Well, the squirrels have a point. Tatsuko is particularly susceptible to the effects of gravity, not being exactly un petit fleur. But who am I to talk? Fiona, who was always shaped like a bowling pin, is now on her way to being shaped like a bowling *ball.* She is the eatingest weasel I have ever seen. I'd ration her food, but then Kaylee would starve to death. If we're ever trapped in the house in a disaster, we'll live off Fiona for *weeks.*

No-no, you're thinking of the delightfully plump Helen; Tatsuko is as thin as ever, and I need to feed her extra-tasty food at least twice a day to keep her from disappearing....

Yeah, we hates getting the toeses stuck between our teeth, we hates it!

She'll be so happy to see her momma again.

I remember when Tats was on steroids and she beefed right up. I specifically remember when I was catsitting and I would hold her up on her carpeted wall so she could pretend she was a beautiful butterfly soaring above the world. My arms felt like noodles afterward. There was a reason we nicknamed her Granite Butt. Good to hear she is tres svelte!
