Venus and Moon lovers

Did you see the Moon and Venus last night, right after sunset? The Moon's unlit portion (most of it, as it's barely a crescent) was brightly lit by earthshine, probably because it's winter in this hemisphere, and Venus was hugely bright at magnitude -3.9... and the Moon was only 5 degrees above Venus (about the width of your fist at arm's length). Tonight, you should be able to see something very similar, though the Moon's lit crescent will be fatter and it'll reside higher in the sky than Venus.
