"In the Clouds of Jupiter": draft complete!

Hoooooray! The draft of my new story is done! And I like it. First some food, then a quick revision, then off to my first readers.

Wanna see it and feel up to reading 14,000 words on the quick so I can revise and ship it off to ericreynolds later tomorrow? Please let me know and I'll send you a copy!

Here was my inspiration, by the way; the piece of art that I'm "literating" (that is, illustrating via words versus vice-versa):

I have loved Ron Miller's art since I was in junior high-school, particularly this image. Thank you, Eric, for granting me the opportunity to finally write a story I've been wanting to write for decades!

EDIT: I've wrapped up my first edit pass and sent it off to folks who expressed interest in reading it by tomorrow afternoon. If you wanted a copy but didn't get one, let me know and I'll zing it your way!

Congrats on 14,000 words. That's muy bueno. I wrote a 500 flash piece for Postcards from hell. Horror, and alas, I didn't traumatize them enough and was consigned to the lake of fire. At least it's warm and I have to find a home now for that piece. :) And I'd volunteer to read yours for fun but I'm starting my 60 hour weeks and think I shouldn't yet. Still, huge admiration to anyone who finishes a writing work. Yay!
