That's kinda cute, but I'd be tempted to tell it I was eating right in order to make it happy. In fact, if I actually ate right, I wouldn't be able to afford it - none of my clothes would fit me anymore, and I'd shrink to around 120 pounds! Yike! Haha..
Oh the irony, feeling like one needs to tell one's robotic pet that one is eating right so it doesn't get sad!
More proof that we will love our AI robots as much as we love our fellow humans. Maybe more, if they're kind and good and follow Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics.
