Dear friends of the fur-people:

Just a few good-news items on a day when all the news is depressing. Even Dr. Drew spent the day talking about Virginia Tech.

- Tatsuko is learning to fetch. She's a very playful cat, especially this time of night, but tonight she's returning a crumpled-up grocery receipt so I keep throwing it for her. Too cute!

- Sanju came through surgery just fine and is going home tomorrow. She even purred for the vet today. Hooray!

- My hamster, Chloe, is dangling from the bars of her cage, hanging by her teeth. Hee hee!

I felt the need to share some positive feelings.

A friend of mine used to wind pipe cleaners around his thumb to make a spring, and then his cat would play fetch with it.

Eventually you have to turn off the news (or TragiPorn as [livejournal.com profile] gmskarka says) and go play with the four-legged members of the family. It does a soul good.

Awww, these are all sweet stories (I kind of miss having goofy hammies around the house). Yesterday morning, my kitty Sam climbed into bed and laid down on my pillow. I reached up to rub his paw, and he laid his head on my hand and started purring. I treasure every second left I have with him, but I especially love when he does something like that.

Awwww back atcha! That's so cute. Two nights ago, when the weather got pretty cold, Tatsuko climbed under the covers and cuddled against me for at least an hour as I read a book. So sweet!
