Okay, in response to popular demand, I've posted some shots of our new foster-pup on my website:

He's a "mini-pin" (miniature dobie) who was a puppy-mill rescue, and he's a real sweetheart. I'm fostering him until Kij gets home, when we can decide to officially adopt him. He's a year or year-and-a-half old, but his manners are those of a pup because he lived most of his life in a cage (poor thing).

Speaking of cages, gotta run home and let him out!

Best,
Chris

EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I kind of always wanted a MinPin! Yay you! I suppose this is just another stage of your insidious plot to get us to actually come to KS someday.

What's this? When did Cosmo go to that great Fishbowl in the Sky? I didn't even know he was sick! I hope he didn't linger...

Awww! What a Pretty Boy! =) He photographs beautifully. Such a sweetie.

Re: EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Heee. We're just fostering him right now, because he's a hella lotta work: A rescued puppy-mill dog, over a year old, still has the same bad manners as a pup, and has a LOT of energy. On the other hand, he's a real sweetie and Hope just loves having him around.

I'll see how easy he is to deal with when we're both here; by myself... whew, thank goonness for doggy daycare!

Cosmo passed on about a month ago, perhaps the longest-lived domestic African clawed frog ever. He wasn't any sicker than usual; age just caught up with him.

Looks like a winner to me. Was he a way to restore the household's "pet equilibrium"? I've never known you to have less than 2 or three animals, and usually more.

Well, heck, we do have two cats and Hope besides him! The reason we've been looking desultory-ily for another pup is to help Hope with her emotional issues. The cats won't play with her....

They play like fiends together! She's very gentle (if you can call putting her jaws around his throat gentle), and he jumps all over her. But as he gets to trust me more, he plays less with her.
