Astro-image of the day: the clouds of Venus

Have you been watching Venus lately, around sunset? So bright! Here's what it looks like from the Hubble Space Telescope:

Pretty!!!

I shared the image you posted yesterday with my son the physics major and he was so excited to follow the link to the story and read about the proof of dark matter.

Thanks for posting. I never have time to actually go find these things on my own. :)

Oh, neat!

Thanks for the kind words; one of the things I like about doing this every day is that it makes me go look for cool astro-images each day. When I bought my first computer that had a graphics card - and a decent color monitor - I did it so I could view NASA images from the Hubble. Sometimes I forget that, so having a reason to go look for pretty pics makes me happy.

All last week I was watching the NASA channel in Wichita. The live feed of astronauts space walking seemed unreal. I can't wait for that to hit the private sector.
