science-fiction interview films at my place, tonight

Hi folks -

Just a quick note to let y'all know that I'll be hosting a showing of some of the interviews from the Literature of Science Fiction interview series at my house tonight.

Some of the SF Institute folks will be here, and you're welcome, too! Planning to order pizza(s) at about 7pm. Come watch some SF stuff with SF folks, and we'll have some left-over beer and wine, too.

Best,
Chris

wish I could. The only one I have ever seen is the Sturgeon, which I helped with! But I am still so tired I am stupid with it.

You helped with that? Cool!

Yeah -- weren't you one of the ones that looked at me funny when you showed it at the Campbell Conference a couple of years ago and my name came up on the credits? Barbara put me in the credits because I basically dictated the script to her, loaned her all the junk on the shelves behind Ted and Jim (unicorns and all Ted's books), made the Q that is shown on screen, and loaned her the background materials and areas for almost all the unicorn slides she used. I also did the first critique of the raw footage that she made before she edited the copy that you have at KU.

Heh. The shirt Ted is wearing was one I gave him.

I guess you could say "production assistant".

:)

She had to educate me in what "good production values" meant before I could watch the tape and mark all the places where editing would help make it a more professional job. That was interesting.

...and educational.

How fun!
