Enormity indeed: In the short time (cosmologically) since this star burst, its outer atmosphere has expanded millions of times its original size. Stars are truly amazing things, so dense with matter that they can spread their skin across the cosmos in vastly larger volumes and still remain functioning stars.
Once this all settles down and nearby stars add their own materials, perhaps this cast-off matter will feed future planet formation. I wonder what it would be like to grow up on a planet that never had a star, or which formed around a dying star?
