Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated today. Juan Cole explains the implications for US security.

EDIT: I had no idea that most of the Bhutto family has been assassinated over the years. Wow.

Ack! I am old enough to clearly remember when Ali Bhutto was the premier of Pakistan. He was Benazir's father.

Also assassinated, right? As were her brothers, and her mother was gravely injured.... It sounds as if her bloodline is cursed.
