I hadn't really spent any time thinking about this guy, based on his politics alone, so I hadn't realized how much of an extremist he is. Glad he's not on the Dem ticket.

Yep. It amazes me the amount of "justification" and general excusifying going on over this. As if it weren't bad enough that it happened, we've all the Titular Heads of the government making not apologies but apologetics.

I particularly liked Reichsfuhrer Rummy's splitting hairs on whether what occured counted as "real torture" as opposed to mere "abuse". I wonder, if these things had been done to him, if he would be so disposed to quibble.

Yeah, Lieberman is the Democrats' answer to Bill Bennett: a sanctimonious, self-important windbag. I can't imagine that Gore would have allowed such a mean little scold much power in his administration.

Well, according to this author, it's because Lieberman was a Dem who spoke out against Clinton for the blowjob antics. Wow. Just think, if Gore hadn't been so worried about that nonsense, he could have picked a second who could have helped him win.
