Okay, just jumping online quickly to check for emergencies in email and post an update.

Empire Ship progress:

. Wrote a series of new scenes that really moved things along.
. Word count up to 111,200 from last update of 107,180: a gain of about 4000 words.
. Page count up to 364 from last update of 350.
. Mood music assistance: Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Tool, and a few tracks from some other groups that didn't really work.

I also realized last night that I'm only really satisfied with life, I only feel like I'm fully alive, when I'm working on fiction. How did I forget this? Many years of doing something that was writing but couldn't really satisfy my need, I guess. Like living on pretzels and vitamin pills: It'll keep you alive but not well.

Plus I got to talk to my girl again last night. She's home in 6 days and counting!

Do we get a plot synopsis on this epic, Mr. McKitterick?

Aw, I understand, especially with people moving away. Was nice to see you!

Here's what I have on my website (http://www.sff.net/people/mckitterick/Me/chrisnovels.htm), good enough for now methinks:

Hard-edged SF about a punitive generation ship and the galactic civilization threatened by its millennia-old creation. Actually, it's really about a woman who needs to decide whether to save or destroy the Human galaxy and a couple of borderline-psychopaths who learn about loyalty and love. Well, sorta....
Currently just about done. First sections went to editor and he requested the complete book. Wish me luck!

Best,
Chris
