I'm so sad. I'd been hoping to go to that con since sometime last year, when I saw George R.R.Martin was going to be around. Unfortunately, we are still trying to get stuff out of the duplex for which our lease ends this Monday, so I'm not sure I'll be able to spare a day for a KC trip.

Why do they schedule these things the same weekend as HPF? I almost went just to hear George Martin, but chose camping memories over fandom.

Btw, there was an announcement about the 2007 KC Heinlein festival. If you haven't heard about it already, you will at Conquest. ;)

If you can, you should check out the improv comedy troup - Commedia Sans Arte - look for the crazy blonde spounting obscure ancient summarian references...She's a freaking hoot.

one has been going for 35 years the other for a while but not that long. My guess is that there was no interstet in SF&F by the people that started having HPF on memorial day weekend. If I remember right there also used to be a big SCA event that weekend also
