Irony: Slipping and falling while sprinkling de-icer on the frozen sidewalks. Hilarity ensues.

That's a pretty unpleasant form of irony.

I'm assuming from a lack of injury descriptions that you're ok?

My less unpleasant irony was knowing that all my icemelt was in the trunk of the car-which was iced shut.

I think that irony would be slipping and falling *after* you put on the de-icer. While putting it on, you just slipped on ice. I've almost slipped once doing the same activity on my Driveway Of Doom--Doom's Driveway!

I'll be fine; in fact, I laughed as I picked myself up (and scattered the pile of dropped salt).

Nothing major, just a bruised knee and a scuffed hand. Hmph.

Yup, I'm fine, though my right hand is a little slow at typing today.

I did! I should have been clear: I was on my way back to the house when I slipped. The salt had not yet done much to the ice :-/

Even more awesome would be the unopened bag of ice melt sitting by the house, encased in an inch of unbreakable ice. And if the ice was clear enough to see the writing on the bag, a really cool picture too.

I'm glad it wasn't worse. You don't need to get really banged up again. One of my co-workers fell and broke her arm in the parking lot at work last month.

Okay, yup, pretty much. Glad it was hilarious and not an insult to [your shoulder] injury.

I've slid halfway down my drive trying to shovel and de-ice, but I stayed on my feet, so instead of humor, I looked really graceful and awesome.

Oh, no! That's horrible and maybe a little hilarious.

But hey, you do irony so much better than Alanis. ;)

Here's hoping your summer irony moment does not involve chainsaws and a new nickname of "Stumpy."

That is why people should be taking movies of themselves at all times.
