BTW, creationist friend recently asked me to show him the *proof* that there had ever been a large-scale asteroid impact. I pointed out to him that he looks at the proof of a large impact on an almost daily basis... any day he looks a map of NA. "Where?" he said. "What crater?"

Oddly, one of the reasons he's a friend is that unlike many of his ilk, he *will* let people with opposing viewpoints talk. Maybe I'll take this month's Smithsonian in to show him -- it has an article about my (religious!) aunt's favorite exhibit, "The Origins of Man."
