Ever since I discovered (age 13, maybe?) that I don't believe in the Christian Church (I was raised ultra-conservative Lutheran, if you can grasp that one), I've been seeking to understand and commune with the numinous. My closest encounters occur when I'm having wondrous insights, when writing is flowing through me, or when I'm in tune with the beauty of the universe (usually astronomy or talking with people or hiking or such). I've been seeking to understand my own personal religion, as it were.
I've been getting closer over the years, but it doesn't seem to relate to any existing religion. I expect I'll launch a description of it sometime before too long... will that be a "religion" if I've come up with the set of understandings on my own?
