That was pretty much my reaction to my cousin's funeral.
I hadn't been inside a church for something like twenty years. A very small portion of the service was remembering Alex. The rest was the preacher droning on and on about how Alex had been called home to Jesus, and how we shouldn't question God's plan, even if it didn't make sense to us. I just could not understand how rational, sensible adults could stand to listen to such drivel, much less take any comfort from it. Made as much sense to me as a bunch of adults still believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy.
