Embarrassingly, I didn't realize this myself until this year, after Brownback got elected, and I switched to the Democrat party and started getting involved in working for change here in Kansas. I realized I had never been to a party meeting on the Republican side at all, even though I had been a Republican for decades, mostly because I am more fiscally conservative than Democrats used to be. But now the Republican version of fiscal conservative is NO FUNDING WHATSOEVER EXCEPT FOR BUSINESSES. When you combine that with their attitude towards women, well, they can go jump off the nearest cliff, for all I care, and I'll loan them the trampoline for the bottom.
