To whom does this refer?
"He had never, except for extremely brief and intermittent times, before entering politics ... made an honest living."
Ding-ding! Yes, correct on both counts! Check out this article, grokked from
chronovore, which compares the two.

Hitler and Bush II both invade defenseless countries for reasons of empire - but only insomuch as that growing empire feeds their cronies (for Bush II, that's the oil companies, Halliburton, and various other super-rich: remember his saying at that dinner that "his people" were the rich?), while Clinton mostly just remote-bombed little countries in retaliation for various things.
Hitler and Bush II wrap themselves in nationalism (hence the "national socialism" of Hitler) and false patriotism, and they both manipulate the media with great skill - knowing that they're spewing lies (such as Iraq being a threat to the US or that it had ties to terrorism).
I could go on and on; take a look at the article and you'll see the solid arguments. If your response ("shite") is based on a rebuttal to those arguments, what do you think? I'm curious as to how people who think Bush isn't stupid and evil actually come to that point of view.

Clinton screwed up a couple of times, but he was more interested in a diplomatic foreign policy, instead of one of intimidation. It is arguable that with the military budget of the US, it can afford to be less sensitive in the application of its tools, but it's a bully's argument, and one that doesn't hold up to game theory.
Hitler staged an attack to generate sympathy for an invasion of a sovereign nation. Bush used the hurt condition of Americans grieving over the terrorism of 9/11 to generate support for a knowingly misaligned attack against an unrelated sovereign nation. Rove and crew are operating with a very similar playbook.

I have heard paranoiac stories that the Bushies - calculating and insincere - actually staged the whole 9/11 attacks. But I can't buy that. He's just not smart enough. But Rove? Perhaps, perhaps; it certainly would align with his philosophical mentor's (Goebbels) methods.
Gak. What a pack of scary folks running our country.
