From the English Department email list-serve:

We have received word that, because of a retirement or departure, a one-year full-time position is open in the English Department at Haskell Indian Nations University. Continuing status after one year is possible, but not guaranteed. A quick search is being conducted, with interviews beginning Monday or Tuesday of next week. Applicants must hold an M.A. in English. An emphasis on American literature, especially combined with some interest in American Indian literature and issues is preferable, but not required, according to unofficial sources (we have not seen any official notice). 4-4 teaching load, courses ranging from Freshman composition to upper-division classes. Salary unknown, but, because of government involvement with the school, competitive. The search is being managed by Venida Chenault, Vice-President of Academic Affairs.

Want a job? Check it out.

Best,
Chris

I don't have an M.A.! Sounds like fun, though -- they wouldn't be expecting much, seeing as they have Zero time to fill the job in, so it would be a good learning experience.

If it's at Haskell, you can only get the job if no qualified Native Americans apply. I applied for a job there once (nobody got the job) and I had to sign a bunch of paperwork telling me which law authorized it.
