cold squirrel

With a wind-chill below zero, a little squirrel who lives in one of my trees tries to stay warm by cuddling down into himself and facing the sun broadside:

EDIT: OMG, he just got up, stretched really long, made the biggest yawn I've ever seen from a squirrel, and scampered off to eat (perhaps) some of my gingerbread house now sitting outside in the back yard.
EDIT2: Now he's hanging off the side of the fence getting warm with two buddies. The sun moved.

Yah. Been doing that every time I go out. No fun.
We threw rock salt out on the drive and it just sort of bubbled up on the surface. Oh well, at least it's *sorta* traction.

My car is also doing that rr-rr noise before it starts. I clutch my skull rosary and make a quick promise to do good.

Golly gee, be sure to have some jumper cables available. Sounds like your battery is on the down-side of its life expectancy.

Egh, I know. Got the cables in the back seat (in case the trunk freezes shut!) and hoping it'll last til payday.

I also recommend going to the auto-parts store and having them test your electrical stuff. They can help identify if it's the alternator or battery that's starting to go, saving you some buckies.

ooh, thanks! I'll be putting it in the shop to have the windows done come the end of the month so I'll ask the guy to check those out too.
