With a wind-chill below zero, a little squirrel who lives in one of my trees tries to stay warm by cuddling down into himself and facing the sun broadside:
brrrrr!
EDIT: OMG, he just got up, stretched really long, made the biggest yawn I've ever seen from a squirrel, and scampered off to eat (perhaps) some of my gingerbread house now sitting outside in the back yard.
EDIT2: Now he's hanging off the side of the fence getting warm with two buddies. The sun moved.

Best,
Chris

Did you leave nongingerbread food out for him? I always worry so much about the little guys in cold weather.

Oh, yeah; I tossed out handfuls of sunflower seeds and a corn cob. Need to get a new cob when I'm able to get out of the house again.

...and I just bought a new bag of "squirrel feed" from the hardware store, which consists of the sorts of things you'd find in the aftermath of a grain-elevator collapse. Who knew such things were available? When I was a kid, people shot them with airguns, the bastards.

Nope, it's all a fabrication. No one would ever do that, especially not grumpy old men with gardens and high-powered, pump-action, .22-cal. Sheridan air rifles.

PS: See my new squirrel post!
