Some lesbian friends of ours just took advantage of the new gay-marrying movement out in Oregon. They've been together for 26 years and have (one? two?) kids! They'll be having a Unitarian ceremony in a month or two, but they're now legally married. How cool is that? Sometimes the news hits close to home, and this time it's good news.
Odd, that whole "Defense of Marriage" thing doesn't seem to apply... this only fills me with added joy about my own marriage and makes me more happy about marriage in general. Those Robertsonites should see examples like this.
