The last SF Instituters just headed back to the dorm after... let's see, eight hours of mostly SFnal talk ranging from books and stories and movies, to the notion of transcendence, to religion and politics of SF - all of this with a healthy dose of theory - finally to life the universe and everything.

My brain is tired but supremely satisfied. I wish we could do this every year... hey, wait; we can! W00h00!

Now to try to get some sleep before tomorrow's discussions (we meet for 12 days straight).

Yes -- first you study in three sessions, morning, afternoon and evening ... and then for recreation you see SF in the media or discuss it. The folks I used to know always said "'Intensive' doesn't begin to describe it."

My brain is finally coming off overdrive, too -- I think.

That's the way it was when Goldman was here; now we have lunch discussion, then class, then dinner discussion, then serious-over-beer discussion into the wee hours.

That sounds wonderful. I wish I'd had the energy to come hang out last night. Twelve days straight with no breaks is tiring!

This is Christy, by the way. :-)

Hey, neat, you have an LJ (and a Facebook *g*). Howdy!

Tiring enough that you missed today, I noticed. See you this evening? We're doing Vermont St. BBQ at 7pm (surely they have something vegetarian...), then reconvening at my place at 8:30 or 9pm to continue the conversations from today and last night. You missed a pretty energetic discussion of "Day Million," from feminist and non-gender POVs....
