General question about Clockwork Orange
The first (and only) time I've seen the movie was when I was 14. (See, I heard there were naked chicks in it, and I was... "intrigued." ;) )
Needless to say, it wasn't what I was looking for. I got about 1/2-way through the movie and turned it off, horrified and disgusted. So I'm a little hesitant to watch it again. I assume that it's a better movie from an adult point of view?

Re: General question about Clockwork Orange
It's still horrifying and disgusting. Making it through to the end does seem to make the film more bearable in some ways, less so in others.
It's a film that I've seen 3 times in my life. I am not chomping at the bit to watch it again, I do not plan to be there on Tuesday. (Mostly because I have a scheduling conflict, but even if I didn't, it would be an evening I would stay at home or visit with friends somewhere else.)
Much like my thoughts regarding "Reservoir Dogs" my thoughts of "Clockwork Orange" is -- once I've been able to erase the association of horrible gruesomeness with particular pieces of music, and am able to only go from song to "that was in such-and-such film during a gruesome scene" that means it's a film I need not see again anytime soon.
If ever.

Re: General question about Clockwork Orange
It's a comedy (about as dark as they get), and a critical view of male youths. Jim Gunn thinks it's amoral, but Kij thinks it's moral with a nihilistic flavor.
A must see! Alcohol will help make it less disturbing, methinks.
