Yeah, they released that awhile back man. I think you can torrent the entire thing off Pirate Bay. And NIN actually put it on Pirate Bay so it's legal...

That is the *old* new album. The new free album is called The Slip. http://theslip.nin.com. They have many different versions available as a torrent.

You can download 9-tracks of Ghost for free. I bought the entire 36-track album for $5.00.

I'd guess that they make more money giving it away than they would by selling it through the label, because it helps sell other stuff where they get a much better percentage than the label grants them. Additionally, they promote their tours, which seem to be the place where musicians make their money now.
