Today's high temperature was 79°F. On November 3, which is almost winter unless I missed something. Eighty freaking degrees. I'm not kidding.

Right now, half past midnight, the temperature is 64°. Seriously.

According to Weather Underground, normal is 59° (high) 37° (low).

Beautiful and sunny day, lovely starry night on the drive home from class in Overland Park along dark Highway 10. I had to run the A/C in the car when I left town at 6pm.

Freakish.

Chris

It is odd indeed. This was the first temperate Halloween in memory for me. I don't mind a long lovely fall, but Jeeze, what is coming?

I know! Are we going to pay for this in January? Or are we looking at weather like this all winter?

Freakish, I tell you.

yeah, freakish!

WOW! that is downright jamaica or something, but the A/C??? chris!!! you delicate flower, you!!

Hahaha!

See, the KU carpool vehicle was parked in the sun all day, so it was positively boiling inside. Really!

LOL!!! ok, you're off the hook this time!
here in oregon we were supposed to get an extended summer because it stayed cold through june. i think you stole our 80 degree day!

Global warming does have its upsides, it seems.

For instance, here, winter should have already started! But it hasn't! Woot! It's been in the 60s and 70s here.

(We have had one minor snowfall and I have had to de-ice may car 4 mornings already, though.)

I really like seasons. Especially fall. But I think I just enjoy the cyclical change of things. Summer gets kind of boring after awhile. Not always crazy about those hardcore January nights though.

Wow, you're having the same weather.

(Except for the snow, that is.)

We've had this kind of weather on Thanksgiving before. We've even had nice warm weather on Christmas in my childhood. It isn't the norm, but it isn't completely out of the ordinary in Kansas.

We've had weather in the 70s on New Years several times in the last few years. Happy midcontinent climate.

Every year, Kansas weather freaks me out. Minnesota weather is my model: Summer should be hot, winter should be cold and snowy and clear, spring should be a mix of snow and blossoms, and fall should be cool and full of pretty leaves. Kansas mixes 'em up at random.

I'm used to it since I've lived here since I was 5. I grew up with the saying, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."

Freakish, yes. I know I'm in Texas and it's supposed to be warm here, but it's not supposed to be warm enough for me to sleep with my bedroom window open in November.

Whoah! At least it's cool enough at night here that I'd be shivering if I did that here.

Wait a second... "Weather Underground"?

Is this some sort of weather revolutionary movement?

From: [identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com

How do you know that, citizen? You some kind of 'Merica-hatin' ter'rist?

It was 75 here yesterday. It really threw me for a loop since we were dealing with temperatures in the 30's and 40's less than a week ago. That being said, it was really nice.

Totally feeling your pain! It's been crazy warm during the days here, too. The evenings are pleasant and cool, but I'm so ready for some cold, gray, wet weather!

From: [identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com

I dunno about cold, gray, and wet, but I'd love a good batch of cold and snow!

We don't get snow here, but cold, gray and wet is football watching, book reading, cat snuggling, hot chocolate drinking weather!
