So I got the garage door fixed - now I can open and close it without an assistant. That was fun. And I can even use the powered opener! W00t!
All for the low, low price of a hundred bucks and one hour of my time (more irritating than the moola, but I didn't dare deal with a garage-door spring without watching someone else do it first).

Hello!
From my post:
"I'll be moving to Lawrence in the fall (for the English Lit PhD program at KU) and will be visiting to get things in order several times over the next few months. I'm looking for a good dog daycare facility, or at least a good boarding facility, for my Pixie (of the userpic). I absolutely hate boarding her, so a place with group daycare is much preferable; I figure she doesn't have a chance to feel displaced if she's running around playing. :)
I have exhausted my google skills. Any suggestions or leads will be greatly appreciated. Any other Lawrence pet-owner information you feel like sharing is also welcome!"
I also notice we have a few common interests--would you mind if I friend you?
Thanks!

Re: Hello!
I'm actually familiar with both of your websites--I read them (and all the other KU English pages) when researching PhD programs before deciding to apply to KU. And I currently teach tech writing at WSU, so we're kindred! :)
Oh, one more thing: I've heard rumors of a dog park in Lawrence; is this true?
Thanks again!!

Re: Hello!
I'm slated to teach 101 and 102 my first year, and I want to do that design-your-own-class thing as soon as they'll let me, but I'm definitely interested in the possibility of teaching tech writing after that. I want the most diverse teaching experiences possible (plus I've really enjoyed teaching tech writing at WSU).
Thanks again; I look forward to meeting you!
