Movie and dinner night

Starting at 5:30, dinner to celebrate Pooch's birthday. Happy 29th Birthday again!

8/3 APOCALYPSE NOW (let's hope they have the Redux version)

If you are not a fan, how about bringing your own movie? Something stupid and funny would be good ;-)

Cheap appetizers until 7pm. Show starts at 7! Dessert = chocolate martini

Every now and then I feel the obligation to point out that The Road Warrior is one of the finest sf films ever made--easily in the top five (along with 2001. Considering that George Miller later directed Babe and Babe, Pig in the City, I think Miller has to be seriously considered as one of the best directors of films of the fantastic ever.

Oh, yeah, it stands up on so many levels -- not just that it's a wonderful film, but it's also a hugely appealing film! Hard to get both.

Heh. That recent commercial for (what, jeans?) with the guy riding the souped-up and intelligent El Camino always makes me think of Mad Max, especially the later movies.

The stupidest movie I (will admit to) own(ing):
Volunteers with Tom Hanks, John Candy, and Rita Wilson.

Of course, there's always Ghostbusters, but I don't have it on DVD.
