Is not wimping out. When you've got that much damage, Elvis-Brand® Drugs* help you relax enough that your body can work on healing without having to deal with all that twitching and grimacing and such. I know you've got way too much to do, but you need to just take a couple of days and chill, otherwise it will take a lot longer for you to heal.

And definitely take pain meds! Suffering does not help anything.

Oh yeah, and if the physical therapist makes you do painful things with your shoulder, do them and try not to complain too much. If you don't do them you can end up having to do even MORE painful things over a much longer period of time. And you might discover that a recliner can be a good place to sleep with an injured shoulder -- easier to get into a good position and get back up again.
Yes, that's the voice of experience. No, you probably don't want to hear about it until you get better. Trust me on this.

We're thinking of stopping by with get-well offerings... would that be okay, or are you super laid-up?

You can view your acromioclavicular separation as a failed attempt at budding—your body was really just trying to divide into two awesome copies of itself. *nods*
Better luck next time!
