What with LJ being under perpetual DoS attacks, I've forgotten to post this!

In about an hour, I'm giving a little presentation to the University of Kansas Astrobiophysics people:

ASTROBIOPHYSICS SEMINAR
"Alien Life in Science Fiction"
Thursday, April 7, 2011
2:30 p.m.
Room 2055 Malott Hall, KU

It's just a brief overview of how and why SF writers use aliens, with lots of photos of cool creatures ;-) You're welcome to join!

Best,
Chris

did you happen to record/film it?

::hopes you included buffalitos in the curriculum::

Not recorded, sorry, though I'm thinking it would be fun to reprise at ConQuesT. It was a short presentation, so I only covered a few of the classic aliens, but I brought up a bunch of newer beasties - including buffalitos - in the discussion afterward!

Despite my name listed on the website, I don't currently have plans to be at ConQuesT this year.

Thanks for the inclusion of the buffalitos!

Hey Chris--

I'm sorry I missed this; it sounded like a lot of fun. With a little more notice, I might be able to make it should you do a discussion like this again.

(It looks like there are a couple panel discussions on this topic slated for ConQuest -- do you plan to do any of those?)

Not sure yet what I'll be doing at ConQuesT, but that could be fun! I was thinking of doing something not unlike this there, too, with lots of images of the aliens.

Hi there, do you mind if I friend you? You seem very interesting. I think we have a few LJ people in common.
