Um, I'm not sure that I'm ready to say this, but I think I just finished writing Empire Ship. Wow, holy cow. I wrote something like 35,000 words in less than three weeks. That plus I also did a whole lot of living. What an amazing three weeks these have been. Somehow I'm still alive. I feel like a genius. Go call the Weekly World News.

Details:
. Final word count is 133,771 - a gain of nearly 5000 words from the last update (128,900). Wowza, no wonder I feel like curling up under a rock and dying.
. Final page count of 438 - a gain of 15 from the last update (423).
. No mood music assistance these last two days, except Kij's purring, the music of rain on terra-cotta paving stones, and the papery sound of wind through the palm trees outside our balconied room.

Um, that is all, I guess. I expect the last bit will need some re-finishing, but I'm done writing the novel!
Yay me!

Exhaustedly yet Satisfiedly,
Chris

Thank you! Are you here at WFC enjoying the wireless internet, too?

Oh good heavens, no! I haven't attended WFC in at least nine years; if I were there, I'd be grabbing you for a drink (if I could find you, which i rarely seem to be able to do when we're at the same convention). I'm home in Seattle with a little insomnia, passing the time online and with a cat in my lap, enjoying it all vicariously. I hope you and Kij have a fabulous time, and that Kij comes home with one of those wonderously hideous trophies. Please tell her I said so. ::grin::

Please accept my sincerest congratulations. Hopefully, I'll join you in the land of "written my novel" in a few months. ;^)

Can't wait to see it on the shelves, Chris.

Incredible! It's hard for me to do 35 words in a week, let alone 35,000! Congratulations, Chris.

Cool. Congrats man! At that pace, if you keep writing, you might rival Steven King's record for novels done in a year. So when's your next novel going to be done? Just ribbin' ya' ...

see you later,

Michael

Yahoo!

Feels great, doesn't it. To write "The End". Huge pats on the back.

Does this mean you'll escape from the room and mingle today at the con?

We should celebrate by watching Farscape! *wink*
