Um, I'm not sure that I'm ready to say this, but I think I just finished writing Empire Ship. Wow, holy cow. I wrote something like 35,000 words in less than three weeks. That plus I also did a whole lot of living. What an amazing three weeks these have been. Somehow I'm still alive. I feel like a genius. Go call the Weekly World News.
Details:
. Final word count is 133,771 - a gain of nearly 5000 words from the last update (128,900). Wowza, no wonder I feel like curling up under a rock and dying.
. Final page count of 438 - a gain of 15 from the last update (423).
. No mood music assistance these last two days, except Kij's purring, the music of rain on terra-cotta paving stones, and the papery sound of wind through the palm trees outside our balconied room.
Um, that is all, I guess. I expect the last bit will need some re-finishing, but I'm done writing the novel!
Yay me!
Exhaustedly yet Satisfiedly,
Chris

Please accept my sincerest congratulations. Hopefully, I'll join you in the land of "written my novel" in a few months. ;^)
Can't wait to see it on the shelves, Chris.

I sure would like to finally see my name on a bookshelf, as well - let's hope the response time for this one is less than three years, eh?

Re: Bravo!
Next up (haven't yet ordered them):
. Get the hot-rod wagon on the road again.
. Get to work on I was a Teenage Alien (working title), a young-adult SF novel series I want to pitch.
. Get to work on The Vivisectionist, reallly not a YA novel, but rather an illustrated novel I've started working on with Alan M. Clark.
. A story that's been beggin' me to write it.
. Oh, and start outlining another sorta literal-metaphysical SF novel.
Best,
Chris
