According to my Hubble Space Telescope calendar, Winter Solstice started at 8:42am this morning (Central time) and runs through tomorrow at sunrise.

According to the Naval Observatory, Winter Solstice occurs precisely at 2:35pm Central this afternoon.

I think that the longest night is our Tuesday night.

Due to the Naval Observatory's whole job being getting astro things right, I'll judge when Soltice occurs by their measure. Therefore, Longest Night should be tonight... by a hair!
