Okay, first ice-caused wipeout of the season: Slid the scooter beside the security booth coming up the campus hill. Big sweep of ice around the corner, looked like water, guess it's colder than that. Thud at about 2 mph. Sore knee, but all else is well. Thank goodness for the thick leather jacket and gauntlets. Continued on my way, reminded to be wary for ice.
Oh, and it's freezing outside now. And snowing. Welcome to winter!
Chris
Edit: Ouch. Getting sore in one arm and shoulder now. Feh. Same shoulder I banged up a few weeks ago when I took a dive (assisted by a slipping stepping-stone) off a little hill on campus straight onto the road.
Edit2: Oooh, and the wrist is getting sore now. Hmm, I wonder if I can get Workman's Comp because it happened on campus? *g*

I was going to head back to campus this afternoon but your experience on the scooter has made me rethink that idea.

Keep your scooter pretty and unmolested! Unless you just keep a sharp eye out for black ice.

Just went to the bathroom to look for bruises: Wow, I have some dramatic ones just above the knee and just below the elbow!
PS: Pretty icon!

Tonight's class is presentations, so I won't need to do a lot of gesturing with the sore arm *g* What I wish I could do is sleep all day tomorrow rather than spend all day tomorrow grading and teaching. Sigh.

take care of yourself.
...or arrange for "poor baby" pats ;)
My family just lost a friend to a car wreck on the ice. Be ever so careful out there. I'm glad you had some good padding and only suffered some bruises.
