Just finished watching the Billy-Bob Thornton movie, The Astronaut Farmer. It was an under-500-calorie (on the exercycle) show.

I loved so much of this movie, the start and the ending, but I was unhappy with the middle part. Actually, I thought it would turn out to be a dream sequence, and when it continued I got irritated. But the ending makes that center part worthwhile and perhaps necessary. Hm. It's just not the way I would have written it. Without saying more (don't want to be a spoiler), I'd like to hear what y'all thought if you saw it.

If you haven't yet seen this movie, don't read the comments to this post!

Anyhow, time for bed. G'night! No bedbugs.

I actually enjoyed it a lot (saw it in the theatre.) I'm not sure his kind of eccentricity would be tolerated in a small town, not that and his outspokenness too. Also didn't like the middle 'try and fail' sequence, but the ending was great.

However: (spoiler alert)

If grandpa had all that money all along, and he was very supportive of BBT's dream, why didn't he fork over when he was alive, instead of allowing the farm to be jeapardized? Didn't make sense to me.
