Yes, it is the browser. On a standards complient browser, it will show up as black. Since I don't use IE, I've only been seeing black for everybody, so I wasn't getting what the big deal was :)

Oh, listen to the smarty-pants! IE isn't "a standards complient browser," eh? It only works better than most of the other browsers out there >g<

I included a tag that said
"include religious war over browsers here"
between angle brackets.
But the meaning was absorbed by the net, as it tried to render/insert it...
you know, instead of displaying it as a joke.
Darn angle brackets... too much time at work, and correct coding comes out when I least want it.
