How do you improve the motorcycle? Why, get rid of everything it doesn't need! Including the second wheel:

And here's the modern iteration of the one-wheeled cycle:

Personally, I'd prefer the Dynasphere. Okay, back to work....

How do you park it? Lay it back on that chrome doohickey?

The Dynasphere makes me giggle...

Hamster Ball for humans!!

I think they both just balance when parked. The Uno sort of cheats by using two side-by-side wheels.

Ah, I missed the fact that it has two wheels.

The practical mind of mine says "yikes" if you ever have a blowout, that might hurt.

I'm thinking Silverberg wrote a story published as an Ace Double in the 1950s about a vehicle like the Dynasphere. But I think maybe they were sentient aliens, or just perhaps menacing weirdness, and not a person-carrier. Unsure; it's been too long since I read it.

I suspect Silverberg wrote on every possible concept during that period, so it could be both!

yeah, that is neat...but I don't think I would ever be brave enough to ride on of those!

yeah, well, if you had my sense of balance....
I don't know if you are a South Park watcher, but those remind me of a invention Mr. Garison made which was quiet humurous :0)

There was a follow-up on this in a recent issue of PopSci or Wired or one of those.

Turns out, they added a second wheel because the gyro-stabilized unit was too unstable above 20mph.

So now it's a Duo.

The first one reminds me of that death wheel in twisted metal. But yea fineline, the harley dealership, and i think the yamaha dealerships have all closed

Holy crap. I saw that the Harley dealer was closed when I made a little trip up there last month (looking for a bargain on a Buell...). Sad about the Yamaha place, because it was our only real motorcycle shop in town (even if they had terrible sales techniques). And sad that Fineline went under without selling it to me ;-)

Hey, maybe he'd sell it to me for a dollar now....
